AMBOSELI BUDGET CAMPS AND MID RANGE CAMPS
Amboseli is one of the most famous and popular National Parks in Kenya. It is home to a large population of elephants, lions, and other big mammals. Amboseli is also a good place to go for a budget camping trip.
The park has two types of camping: high-range and mid-range. High-range camping is where you stay in a campsite that is close to the animals. This is the best option if you want to see the animals in close proximity. Mid-range camping is where you stay in a campsite that is a bit further away from the animals.
KIMANA CAMP
It has 6 self-contained cottages, 15 tented rooms, 15 tents which are not self contained. The camp also features large camping grounds and camping facilities. The tents are quite small – just able to fit the twin bed and little room for much else. The bathrooms are fitted with flush (Western Style) toilets and the showers have heated water. Activities Game drives & safaris, nature walks, bush dinners, sundowners and breakfast, Maasai dances and cultural homestead visits, bird watching and cycling.
Elewana Tortilis Camp Amboseli
Tortilis Camp has a prime location for witnessing the majesty of Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro. Tortilis Camp is named after the flat-topped, umbrella thorn tree, the Acacia Tortilis, and embraces a hill in one of Amboseli’s areas of Acacia Tortilis woodland. Located in a private conservancy bordering the national park, game drives, walks, sundowners and bush meals take place both inside the national park and in the conservancy, where guests enjoy exclusivity.
Amboseli Bush Camp
Classic safari camp located near Amboseli National Park. Rustic tent with comfortable beds. Wide open spaces. Available on phone / mail prior and during the visit to Amboseli. Wild, rugged African bush. Wildlife passes through camp. Maasai guards ensure animals don't get too close. Public transport is limited, taxis are available from Kimana 15km away. The property has its own airstrip. Self-catering, we provide free drinking water however all food and drink has to be brought by the guest. As an alternative there are a few lodges 5 - 15km away with restaurants. Solar power available.
Porini Amboseli Camp
The Selenkay Conservancy lies a few miles north of Amboseli National Park, is an important dispersal area and rangeland for wildlife migrating out of Amboseli. The number of tourist visitors is limited to eighteen per day. Accommodation is at Porini Camp. The facilities include 9 spacious tents, comfortably furnished with en suite bathrooms and solar-powered electric lighting. Game drives in open 4x4s with qualified guides, bush walks, sundowners and night game drives are all included
